Irish deficit not as not as expected

The much talked about Irish budget deficit stood at €5.76 billion, nearly €2 billion less than the expected announcement. The Minister of Finance Michael Noonan commented that “The economy is growing, more people are at work and this is reflected in today’s Exchequer figures. November is the final due month for VAT and performance has been strong in the year to date, with receipts up €575m year-on-year”

This is positive news for the economy but many are cautious but this good news story will encourage people on the street.
